DAY 5

Today's weight: 204.2

Goal weight: 185

Net Weight Loss Since 2/1/12: 1.4 lbs.

Blood Pressure: 116/82

Energy Level: 6.4

I haven't been strictly adhering to the Fit for Life diet, but I still haven't had any beer. I'm losing a little weight and my energy level is higher and I feel better when I wake up in the morning. I've been sleeping six or seven hours a night instead of three or four.

Tonight I go back to work at the hospital (I'm an RN), 7P-7A, so of course I won't get ANY sleep tonight. Or tomorrow night. I'm not sure if I should take a melatonin when I get home in the mornings. I'll think about that.

Cheers!

  1. keep going Jude. Youre eating cleaner. Feeling better in morning is significant. 6-7, way better than 3-4. I pull night shift too for the last three years. I find far better sleep with a little mask that is filled with sobakawa type grain (no odor) over eyes. No matter how try to drape the bedchamber, light leaks, and body says rise and shine after just a couple hours of sleep. So making it dark for eyes instead of whole room is very effective. Just a suggestion to consider. It is great that you are resetting your body for sleep -- and repair. You know far more about that than most. Keep going. Sleep progress alone, is great progress ---related also as you know --as some studies highlight too-- to weight loss.

  3. Jude

Just stopping by here for the first time and glad to hear you've made some positive changes. Turning 40 this year so it's definitely time for me to get into a regular routine.

Putting my first guest blog up this week from Ty Johnston. It isn't about craft, marketing or building readership and sales but a cautionary tale of staying healthy when your job as a writer is to sit on your ass all day and night.

Important stuff. Good luck reaching your goals.
